Well on Saturday, Oct. 16, I went mountain biking with BBTC at Tiger Mountain. The ride was a blast, lots of climbing then a good descent on the way down. It was raining to the point that I couldn't wear my glasses. When it rains my glasses really fog up and I can't see at all, if I take them off at least I can see the big blurs. :) So on the decent the water was rushing down the trail so it was like riding down a stream. I failed to see this particular drop. It was only about 18 inches high. (maybe 2 feet, but I don't know about that) So when I didn't see it I ended up going over the bars at speed on the decent. Luckily the area that I landed in was full of soft rocks. :p After laying there for a couple of minutes the rest of the riders came back/caught up with me and helped me. I made sure I could wiggle my fingers and toes then moved up to a seated position. I have to thank David for helping pull me up to a seated position and later up to my feet. I waited for a few minutes, noticed that I had bent my bar ends so I had to remove them before continuing down. Needless to say I took it very slow the rest of the way down. It was immediately obvious that my injuries were not trivial. The bruise on my left thigh made pedaling very difficult but luckily I made it back to the car. The pictures below are of my bruises about 24 hours after my fall. (pictures taken on Sunday)

Mon Oct. 18 - Work really sucked today, I'm not entirely sure what happened but someone removed the padding from every chair in all of Microsoft. :-p Seriously sitting was a pain, literally. I had origanally planned to add more pictures as the bruises progressed but thought twice about it. Honestly, the bruises are there and hurt, what else is there to say/show? I tried to go for a run today but only made it 2 miles before I had to stop and call it a day. I still need to clean my bike.

  24 Hours After Crash
This is the back of my right leg, notice the bruise is a straight line, just like the tubes on my bike. :)
This is my lower right leg. The redness doesn't really come through but trust me, its almost completely red.
This is the inside of my left leg, the bruise goes from the top of my knee up to about my mid thigh. You can just make out the black and blue around the red scrapes.
This is my upper left thigh near my hip. Again notice the nice straight line, just like the tubes on my bike. :)
